Wilmington Residence

Photography by Jon Friedrich

This family room was part of a large renovation that changed a rarely used formal living room into the main gathering area in the home by opening it up to the adjacent kitchen - you can view the beautiful custom kitchen here

Project highlights include:

  • Space planning: Timeless Design collaborated with the general contractor to determine how to maximum the opening between the family room and kitchen.  No visible beams were added to maximize ceiling height.

  • Custom built-in: a custom designed built-in houses a new gas fireplace and the TV and sound bar. The fireplace surround is quartz with subtle veining which coordinates with the adjacent kitchen finishes. The shaker style doors emulate the style of the new kitchen cabinets.

  • Neutral color palette: a grey and white color palette allows the soft pink pop of color in the art and rose gold accessories to stand out with black hardware adding strength.
